Former ADC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer to Aggressively Scale Mahi Operations and Sales

PETALUMA, CA
October 25, 2004

Mahi Networks, Inc., a leading supplier of multi-service optical transport and switching solutions, announced that Bill Cadogan has been appointed Chairman of the Board and Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Chris Rust, Mahi’s current Chief Executive Officer, will continue to be an active contributor to the Company’s success as a member of Mahi’s Board of Directors, and will return to the venture capital business.

Bill Cadogan is the former Chairman and CEO of ADC Telecom. During his tenure, ADC’s revenues grew from $200M to over $3.5B.

“I am excited to leverage my experience as Chairman and CEO of a Fortune 500 company in my expanded role with Mahi Networks,” said Mr. Cadogan, Senior Managing Director, Vesbridge Partners. “Mahi has publicly announced a number of carrier deployments in the last few months, and we are actively working several more large-scale deployments that will be announced in the near future. My immediate focus will be to personally connect with the major carriers and MSOs across the industry to expand on Mahi’s early successes, and to build upon Mahi’s market momentum as an emerging force in the service provider infrastructure marketplace.”

“Bill Cadogan brings the experience and the relationships Mahi needs to get to the next level of market success,” said Dana Cooperson, Group Director of Optical Networks with RHK. “With two field-proven leading edge products in active deployment, a growing customer and revenue base, and money in the bank, Mahi has added an industry ‘name brand’ to its experienced and capable management team to help leverage its assets.

” Mahi Networks was founded in September 1999. Since its inception, Mahi has secured several customers for its field-proven Mi7 Multi-Service Core Aggregation System; the industry’s only Tb/s-scale packet switch with fully integrated multi-vendor SONET/SDH ring aggregation and TDM cross-connect functionality. In June 2004, Mahi announced that it had completed the acquisition of Photuris Inc., bringing to market the best-in-class Vx7 Multi-Service Core Transport System. The combination of the Mi7 and the Vx7 has created the industry's most advanced end-to-end metro core infrastructure solution for next generation packet-based multiservice networks.
