BroadLogic Named to AlwaysOn 100
Top Private Company Innovators List
Company Lauded for Market Traction, Leadership
and Game-Changing Technology
SAN JOSE, Calif.
July 18, 2007
BroadLogic Network Technologies, a leading provider
of bandwidth reclamation solutions for broadband networks, was included
in the AlwaysOn AO100 Top Private Companies for 2007. The award,
announced yesterday, recognized BroadLogic for innovation, market
potential, and investor value creation.
The company, which recently
announced a key round of financing led by Comcast Interactive
Capital, develops chips that enable multiple
service operators (MSOs) to offer consumers next-generation video
and ultra-high-speed data services, including video-on-demand,
high-definition video, and VoIP.
According to the Consumer Electronics
Association, 28 percent of U.S. homes have HDTVs, representing
35 million high-definition
sets. The group predicts another 16 million HDTVs will ship into
the marketplace this year. As consumer demand for multi-play broadband
services, such as video, voice and data, continues to grow, BroadLogic’s
technologies enable MSOs to outpace subscriber appetite while reclaiming
up to 80 percent of their available bandwidth.
“BroadLogic is committed to providing a technology solution
to the current bandwidth dilemma, including a chip that decodes
dozens of analog channels, reclaims bandwidth and empowers cable
operators to expand their advanced services offerings,” said
Danial Faizullabhoy, president and CEO of BroadLogic. “Being
included on the AO100 list of top innovative private companies with
demonstrated disruptive technology validates our efforts and places
us in great company.”
AlwaysOn editors compiled the third annual AO100
list with assistance from KPMG's emerging business practice, KPMG
VC Practice. The two
groups surveyed more than 1,000 venture investors, investment
bankers, and technology insiders, who in turn nominated more than
900 total
companies. Each AO100 winner demonstrates leadership among its
peers in at least two areas: market traction measured by revenue
or customer
growth, and game-changing approaches and technologies that are
likely to disrupt existing markets and entrenched players. AO100
winning
companies come from an array of technology sectors, including
Consumer & Entertainment,
Devices & Components, Enterprise, Mobile & Wireless, Network & Infrastructure,
and Services & Enablers.
BroadLogic and other AO100 winners
were formally announced on July 17th during a special evening
reception at KPMG's Silicon Valley
office in Mountain View. An additional AO100 awards and VIP reception
is planned for July 31st at the Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center
on the Stanford University campus, the opening night of AO's Innovations
Summit.
